There are so many recipes, which is the best and fastest to make, and effective. I read comments above but the comment, Best Fly Repellant, does not specify which recipe is the best one.

Hi NancyGail,

I wouldn't recommend using the eucalyptus that you find in craft or department stores. These are decorative and can be treated with some pretty nasty chemicals to keep them looking nice. Eucalyptus oil is cheap and is available in most health food stores in the skin care or aromatherapy aisles. If you don't have one nearby, let me know and I can send you a bottle!

I am through with feedstore-bought repellants; they are harsh and overpriced. Time to get back to tried and true basics as shown on your site. Do you know if the decorative-type branches of eucalyptus purchased at dept. stores are safe to use to make tea, to incorporate into one of your spray recipes? Thanks for such a great site, NancyGail.
