Cats are dear pets that can be a little troublesome, when they poke their curious noses in places you don’t want them or urinate around the house or spray in your garden. Your cat may use the children sand box as a litter box or sleep in your bed and sofas that causes hair to stick on your upholstery. It is not easy to hold back your cat or stop it from doing what you don’t want it to do. So how do you stop your cat from its troublesome endeavors?
Well, the first thing you can try is place mesh on the seed beds and do not give it more options of sand or mud to dig. Or else you can try and make some indoor cat repellents to keep you cat away. The following tips on how to make indoor cat repellents will prove to be helpful.
One of the best methods to deter cats is to take advantage of their strong sense of smell. Use smells that are naturally appalling to them. To discourage cats from entering your property, sprinkle some cayenne pepper, ground coffee beans, dried mustard seeds or dried rosemary at the perimeter of your yard. Cats dislike the scents from these items. Try to experiment; perhaps you could alternate the use of herbs and powders to see which ones they dislike the most.
If there are areas inside your property that you want to prohibit cats from entering, you can make a blend of essential or aromatic oils known to repel cats. These oils will not only deter cats from entering, they will also fill your house or garden with pleasant smells of freshly cut flowers and fruits.
Oils to use include:
* Lemon grass
* Orange
* Rosemary
* Lavender
* Lemon
* Citronella
This blend of natural ingredients can be sprayed on anything you want to keep your cat away from.
1. Fill a spray bottle with water with approximately one quart of distilled water.
2. Add 20 drops of eucalyptus oil. Swirl the water in the bottle gently to mix the oil into the water.
3. Add 20 drops of orange oil and swirl again.
4. Screw the lid onto the spray bottle and shake several times. Since oil and water do not fully mix, you will need to shake the contents each time you use the spray.
